Old weapons, furnishings, paintings, manuscripts, ornaments and frescoes bear witness to six centuries of history. In 1952 Prince Livio IV Odescalchi opened the Castle to the public. Its current management is entrusted to Princess Maria Pace who supervises the ongoing restoration and conservation needed to maintain it in tiptop condition. Every year the Castle opens its doors to large a number of visitors, tourists and scholars.
Down through the ages the careful conservation and enhancement of the Castle’s artistic and cultural heritage, from Prince Baldassarre Odescalchi onwards, has preserved the impressive beauty of its ancient stones, the luxurious furnishings of its old rooms and the elegance and quiet peacefulness of its splendid grounds and gardens.
